Meanwhile, Musk later shared an image from the event on X, simply writing, “For Charlie.” The short message carried weight, reflecting the emotional tone surrounding the gathering.
Kirk, widely known for co-founding Turning Point USA, had built a strong following among young conservatives before his tragic death. He was assassinated while speaking at Utah Valley University during his “Prove Me Wrong” campus tour, a moment that shocked supporters and critics alike.

At the center of the dispute was what Trump called the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” a major legislative package that extended earlier tax cuts and introduced new spending measures. Despite criticism, the bill ultimately passed in July 2025.

Around the same time, the administration began moving toward eliminating certain electric vehicle mandates, a shift that placed Musk at odds with the White House.
